  • Chocolate Marshmallow Fudge

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups white sugar
    • 1 cup milk
    • 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
    • 3 tablespoons butter
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 10 marshmallows

    Method

    1. Cut marshmallows in quarters.
    2. Put sugar, milk, and chocolate in a saucepan.
    3. Heat to boiling and cook to soft ball stage.
    4. Remove from heat and beat in butter.
    5. Beat in vanilla.
    6. Fold in marshmallows.
    7. Pour into a small pan and let cool.

  • Flapper Pie

    Ingredients

    • 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 2/3 cup white sugar
    • 1/3 teaspoon salt
    • 1/3 cup cold milk
    • 1 1/6 cup hot milk
    • 2 egg yolks (use whites for meringue)
    • 1 tablespoon butter

    Method

    1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
    2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt into cold milk.
    3. Stir cold mixture gradually into the hot milk in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
    4. Increase temperature and bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    5. Warm egg yolks and stir briskly into milk.
    6. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes.
    7. Add butter and stir until melted.
    8. Pour filling into crust.
    9. Top with meringue.
    10. Bake until meringue is browned (about 5 to 7 minutes).

  • Graham Pie Crust

    Ingredients

    • 18 single graham wafers
    • 1/4 cup brown sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 1/2 cup butter, melted

    Method

    1. Crumble wafers.
    2. Mix together all ingredients.
    3. Press into bottom of pie plate.
    4. Chill until ready to fill and bake.
    5. Bake according to filling directions.

  • Cheddar Cheese Puffs

    Ingredients

    • 6 ounces cream cheese
    • 1/2 pound sharp cheddar cheese
    • 1/2 pound butter
    • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
    • 4 egg whites, beaten stiff
    • 1 loaf unsliced bread

    Method

    1. In a saucepan over low heat, melt cream cheese, cheddar, butter, and mustard.
    2. Let cool slightly.
    3. Gently fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    4. Slice bread into 1 inch cubes.
    5. Dip bread in cheese, coating evenly but leaving the bottom bare.
    6. Arrange on parchment paper on a tray.
    7. Freeze, bag, and seal.
    8. To serve bake from frozen on a cookie sheet covered with waxed paper for 10-12 minutes and serve at once.

  • Cherry Cream Freeze

    Ingredients

    • 1 (15 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
    • 1/4 cup lemon juice
    • 2 1/2 cups cherry pie filling
    • 1 (9 ounce) can crushed pineapple, well drained
    • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
    • 2 cups heavy cream, whipped

    Method

    1. Mix together first five ingredients in large bowl.
    2. Gently fold in whipped cream until evenly mixed.
    3. Pour into 9x5x3 pan.
    4. Cover tightly and freeze for at least 24 hours.
    5. Unmold onto serving dish.
